Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) of Huntersville, NC

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grappling  techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete.

The roots of mixed martial arts can be traced back to various mixed style contests that took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s. Modern MMA competition emerged in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, although professional MMA events had been held in Japan by Shooto starting back in 1989. Originally organized with the intention of finding the most effective martial arts for real unarmed combat situations, competitors were pitted against one another with minimal rules for safety. Later promoters adopted many additional rules aimed at increasing safety for competitors and to promote mainstream acceptance of the sport.

Our MMA Class is broken down into 2 main Categories : Striking and Ground day. The Ground Class consists of  teachings of Judo,Takedowns, Escapes, and Submissions.The Striking Class is where you will learn the principles of Stand up combat. This is where you will become proficient in Boxing, Kickboxing, Karate, Muay Thai, etc.

The Class is designed to cover all realms of Martial Arts and Hand to Hand Combat. This makes it very appealing to many types of people. You do not need prior training to participate in the class. The Class is not just for competitors. But for anyone looking to get a great workout as well as learn some valuable training for the real world.

We have included the correct definitions of traditional kickboxing in the following paragraphs. However our kickboxing like all of our programs are custom to all clients. If you want the training for competition or the training for self-defense or just for a great fitness program. WE DO IT, WE GOT IT!!Kickboxing refers to the sport of kicking and punching. Kickboxing is a standing sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once a combatant has reached the ground, although certain styles of Muay Thai make exceptions to this rule.(Which we also teach for your Thai fighters)
